HELLO AND WELCOME,

I’m Sydney, the face behind Lilac Media!

I’m a Midwest cattle kid with a love of all things creative. I started with photography through 4-H, which then expanded into social media when my family began selling bulls in 2015. Each year, I took on a little more responsibility of marketing our operation, expanding to taking sale photos and videos and creating advertisements.

I studied agricultural communications at Kansas State University and had the opportunity to learn about all forms of media. I worked on projects like creating a podcast and social media content for the K-State Beef Cattle Institute and taking video footage for virtual reality interviews in a feedlot. Each opportunity gave me the opportunity to grow my skills and further develop my passion for photo and video.

I recently moved back home to Iowa where I work in public relations supporting Iowa corn farmers. I am so happy to be back in the Midwest and ready for new adventures with my camera in hand!

When I’m not deep into editing, you can find me lost in a good book with an iced chia or spending time in the sun. Thank you for stopping by my page; it means so much to me that you’re here!

Why Lilac Media?

One thing you should know about me is that I love the color purple! It’s a color everyone looks good in, the color of royalty and of the K-State Wildcats! I wear purple so much that my coworkers point out the days I don’t wear it. Since I unintentionally branded myself as the girl who loves purple, I decided why not incorporate that into my media businesses rebrand? Thus, Lilac Media was created.
